Creative projects aim to tackle lockdown strain

Five new projects are launching in the community this month to explore creative ways to overcome the strains of lockdown and think about public health and wellbeing beyond COVID.

Commissioned by East Sussex County Council Cultural Strategy and Public Health staff, the Everyday Creativity programme is being managed by Lewes-based arts charity Culture Shift, with each project being led by different creative organisations.

Council awarded green scheme grant funding

East Sussex County Council has taken a step closer to reaching its carbon neutral target by securing grant funding worth just under half a million pounds.

The council has successfully secured £478,423 from the government’s £1 billion Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme which provides grants for public sector bodies to fund energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation measures.

Link road boost for Newhaven Port

Work starts this week on a new link road at Newhaven Port which will help drive regeneration and provide a huge economic boost to the town and county.

Newhaven Port & Properties has confirmed that work will begin on Phase One of their north link road on Monday, March 15. The new link road will connect to the recently completed Newhaven Port Access Road, which has been constructed by East Sussex County Council.
