Progress update for Queensway Gateway Road

escc logoTHE FINAL phase of the Queensway Gateway Road is now expected to be completed in September.

East Sussex County Council and its contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places are delivering the last stage of the project which links Queensway with the A21 Sedlescombe Road North.

The work was due to be completed at the end of this month, but owing to unforeseen circumstances the road is now scheduled to open to the public in September.

Kids team up with animal agents for reading challenge

Some of the animal agent characters featuring in this year's Summer Reading ChallengeCHILDREN in East Sussex are being enlisted to help a team of ‘animal agents’ as this year’s Summer Reading Challenge gets underway.

Youngsters are being tasked with joining creatures furry, scaly and slippery, who are out to crack a case at the local library with the help of their friends. Continue reading →

Grass cutting underway along cycle routes

Grass cutting has been completed alongside the Ringmer Cycleway, between Lewes and RingmerCYCLISTS in East Sussex will enjoy a clearer ride following a programme of grass cutting along county cycle routes.

East Sussex Highways staff have been busy clearing vegetation along the Ringmer Cycleway, between Lewes and Ringmer, with similar work to follow on three other routes in the week beginning July 24. Continue reading →

Roads across the county to be given a summer makeover

ROADS across East Sussex will become safer and smoother this summer as they are given a new lease of life.
