East Sussex prepares to welcome Tour of Britain

BRITAIN’S biggest professional cycling race will hit East Sussex for the first time as the county hosts part of the penultimate leg of the Tour of Britain.

Tour of Britain 2013The provisional route for stage seven, on Saturday, September 13 2014, will see the world’s top riders enter the county near North Chailey, heading through Uckfield, Horam, Hailsham, Eastbourne and East Dean.

The tour heads west through Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes, briefly re-entering West Sussex to take on the famous climb of Ditchling Beacon before passing through Brighton for the finish.

Service improvement projects are given £420k cash boost

CabDavidElkin (Small)PROGRAMMES that are helping public organisations in East Sussex work together to deliver better services for less money have been given a £420,000 cash boost.

A successful bid was submitted by East Sussex County Council on behalf of its partners to provide continued support for two existing collaboration programmes that look at sharing buildings and ICT services across public and voluntary sector organisations. Continue reading
