Consultation on future of local government launches

RESIDENTS are being invited to take part in a consultation that will help reshape local government and how services are run in the future.

Launch of new identity and discount card for East Sussex youth

3i-D launch smallA NEW ‘three-in-one’ identity and discount card aimed at young people in East Sussex has been officially launched.

The 3i-D card enables young people to prove their age in cinemas, bars and shops, claim age-appropriate fares and selected reduced fares on bus travel and enjoy discounts in shops and leisure outlets. Continue reading →

Youth Cabinet members take their seats

Big Vote results smallYOUNG people in East Sussex have made their voices heard by electing the county’s new Youth Cabinet.

A total of 11,347 votes were cast – an increase of almost 2,400 from the last election in 2011 – with 20 cabinet members selected from 38 candidates. Continue reading →

Expansion of six schools is given the go ahead

Nick BennettHUNDREDS of primary school places will be created with the expansion of six schools in East Sussex.

Proposals for 623 additional school places in Eastbourne, Hastings and Ringmer were given the go ahead by the council’s lead member for Learning and School Effectiveness, Cllr Nick Bennett.
