Waste sites will help meet recycling targets

East Sussex County Council, Brighton & Hove City Council and the South Downs National Park Authority will be asking people to have their say on the area’s draft Waste and Minerals Sites Plan. Continue reading

Call for artist to contribute to Seaford’s new library

SeafordARTISTS are being invited to add their creative touch to Seaford’s new library with specially commissioned outdoor seating.

East Sussex County Council announced earlier this year that three artworks will be commissioned for three new library developments with the help of a £56,000 grant from the Arts Council. All three commissions will be under the title Transparent. Continue reading

Council backs Gatwick Airport second runway

gatwick webEAST Sussex County Council has given its backing to a second runway and new terminal building at Gatwick Airport.

At a meeting at County Hall today (Tuesday, June 3 2014), Cllr Rupert Simmons, East Sussex County Council lead member for economy, pledged the authority’s support for the third of three options for expansion upon which the airport is consulting. Continue reading
