East Sussex libraries reopen after lockdown

LIBRARIES across the county welcomed back visitors this month as they reopened their doors following the latest easing of lockdown restrictions.

Residents can once again browse the shelves and select books as well as return and reserve items. Computers are available to pre-book, and study space and Job Pods for online job interviews are available at selected libraries.

Be on your guard against Covid con, businesses warned

BUSINESSES across the county are being warned to be on their guard against scammers after fake Government letters were delivered in Eastbourne and Hailsham.

The hand-delivered letters, claiming to be from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, falsely claim that all businesses must, by law, have Covid-safe air purifiers installed by May 3 to be able to trade. Continue reading

Roadworks planned for A259 at Newhaven

LANE closures will be in operation on the A259 at Newhaven in April and May to enable pedestrian crossing and signal improvement work to be carried out.

Traffic lanes on some sections of the road will be closed to allow work on the pedestrian crossing and signals to take place safely, before resurfacing work starts in early June. Continue reading
