Congratulations to East Sussex students as A Level exam results announced

escc logoCOUNCIL leaders have praised the efforts of young people across East Sussex as they receive their A Level, Technical and Vocational qualifications today.

Cllr Bob Standley, lead member for education and inclusion, special educational needs and disability at East Sussex County Council, said: “On behalf of the County Council, I would like to congratulate East Sussex’s post-16 students on their hard work and determination. Our young people were well prepared for their examinations, and this is reflected in the results that they have received today.

Praise for students as GCSE results announced

COUNCIL leaders have praised the efforts of young people across East Sussex as this year’s GCSE results were announced.

Memorial for fearless First World War hero

Claude Nunney VCA ‘FEARLESS’ soldier who bravely charged through a barrage of gunfire during a First World War battle will be commemorated with a permanent memorial.

Hastings-born Claude Nunney was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross – the highest decoration for valour from the British Army, for his actions in battle on September 1 and 2, 1918. Continue reading →

Don’t let asthma treatment slip, parents warned

PARENTS of children with asthma in East Sussex are being reminded to ensure their child uses their preventative inhaler regularly – to help avoid a spike in hospital admissions.
