Community welcomes new village speed limit

A COMMUNITY has welcomed speed limit reductions designed to improve road safety in a historic East Sussex village.

Thanks to investment from the county council’s local transport capital improvements programme the new 20mph limit is now in effect throughout Alfriston to address concerns over the speed of traffic and the dangers posed to pedestrians on the narrow streets. Continue reading →

New highways payment scheme promotes business growth

CONTRACTORS working on highways schemes in East Sussex are being paid in a new way under a pioneering scheme running in the county.

Parents of absentee children taken to court

'Get A Grip' - East Sussex County Council school attendance campaignSIXTEEN parents of children in East Sussex have been taken to court for failing to ensure their children regularly attend school.

National recognition for county’s Registration service
