Battle Library in East Sussex has reopened to the public after a total refurbishment.
The nine week modernisation scheme has seen the library in Market Square completely redecorated and fitted with new carpets, lighting, furniture and shelving, as well as self-service facilities, a new display area and space for community events. HASTINGS Library will reopen later than expected – to give contractors more time to protect the fabric of the historic building.
The library, in Claremont, has been closed since February last year for a complete revamp. The finished building will also house the children’s library, which is currently based in Robertson Passage. Continue reading
