Campaign to help smokers in Hastings find happiness

AN AWARENESS campaign designed to dispel a common myth that smoking is a way to relieve stress is hitting Hastings in the new year.

Representatives of South East Smokefree Alliance (SESA) will be at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre on Tuesday, January 6, to talk to shoppers about wellbeing, and the link between quitting smoking and feeling better. Continue reading →

Road closure as improvement scheme progresses

Cllr Bill BentleyA ROAD in Hailsham will be temporarily closed to traffic as a £2.5 million improvement scheme in the town centre continues to progress.

Diversion routes will be in place as George Street closes for eight weeks from Monday, March 13 to allow contractors Costain CH2M to begin work on reconstructing the road. Continue reading →

Ben swaps teaching role for chart stardom

East Sussex Music teacher Ben Thomas is leaving his job for a full-time role drumming with Rag ‘n’ Bone ManA MUSIC teacher from East Sussex is giving up up his day job for a full-time role playing with one of the country’s hottest new artists.

Ben Thomas has spent the last three years combining his role teaching youngsters drums and percussion for East Sussex Music with his duties as a drummer with Rag ‘n’ Bone Man. Continue reading →
